COOKING, FOOD AND CULTURE OF THAILAND

 

 

Thai food is a process of Thai culture, inherited from generations to generations. Discover the secret of Thai cookery, learn and prove by your own taste buds.

 

Day 1   Bangkok      (-/-/-)

Arrive Bangkok Airport.  After customs and immigration formalities the group will be met by our representative and transferred to hotel accommodation.

 

Day 2   Bangkok       (B/-/D)

Visit to the Grand Palace, Emerald Buddha, Wat Po, Wat Arun and flower market.  Dinner at Supatra River House, served delicate cuisine in the atmosphere of the olden days.

 

Day 3  Bangkok - Ayuthaya - Cooking Class   (B/L/D)

Start first cooking class at a well known cookery school. Then visit Chinatown market, showing the influence of Chinese immigrants on Thai food.  Afternoon, depart for Ayuthaya.

 

Day 4  Ayuthaya - Petchaboon   (B/L/D)

Depart for Petchaboon visiting Lop Buri en route.

Overnight, KhaoKho Thalenphu resort.

 

Day 5  Petchaboon - Cooking Class     (B/L/D)

Cooking class, featuring Thai herbal cooking of the area and visit the resort farm.

 

Day 6  Petchaboon - Lampang     (B/L/D)

Depart for Lampang stopping en route at Sukothai. 

 

Day 7  Lampang - Chiang Mai     (B/L/D)

Visit Lampang Elephant Conservation Centre and Burmese temple.  After lunch, depart for Chiang Mai.

 

Day 8  Chiang Mai - cooking class     (B/L/D)

Morning, visit to local market and cooking class featuring Northern cooking at Somphet Cooking School.  Chiang Mai Cultural Centre, khantoke show in evening.

 

Day 9  Chiang Mai - overnight train to Bangkok   (B/-/D)

Visit Doi Suthep.  In the afternoon, visit to design centre.  Early dinner at the Riverside Restaurant.  2nd class lower ac sleepers for group.

Overnight on the train.

 

 

Day 10  Bangkok – Hua Hin      (B/-/-)

Morning, arrive in Bangkok and transfer to Hua Hin.

 

Day 11  Hua Hin - Demonstration cooking class   (B/L/-)

Visit to local market to shop for fresh seafood.  Cooking class, and lunch featuring seafood in local restaurant.  Evening, visit to Hua Hin night market.

 

Day 12  Hua Hin - Bangkok - Cooking Class   (B/L/-)

At leisure on the beach.  Afterwards return to Bangkok.

 

Day 13  Bangkok  (B/-/-)

Departure for airport

End of services.

 

 

Services included in the price:

¨ Tours and transfers by air-conditioned bus.

¨ Hotel accommodation throughout the tour is based on 2 persons in twin-bedded room, B/B basis.  All rooms are air-conditioned with attached bath and toilet.

¨ Meals as specified in the program.

¨ 2nd class air-conditioned train with sleeper between Chiang Mai/Bangkok.

 

Service of local English-speaking guide:

¨ Admission fees where applicable.

¨ One tour leader free of charge when accompany group of 15 paying persons on shared twin basis.

 

¨ Services not included in the price:

¨ Airport tax and flight insurance.

¨ International flight.

¨ Domestic flight (which will be at supplement cost if required).

TOUR COST

Cost based on a minimum of two persons in the group as per itinerary  

 

Standard Hotels

Per Person   UDS157.00   In addition there is an Acceptance Fee/Deposit of £150.00.  

 

PLEASE NOTE:  The Acceptance Payment is only payable ONCE.  There can be a combination of more than one tour in more than one country for the same Acceptance Fee.

 

Single Room Supplement USD34.00

 

 

Charge for children under 12 years of age:

50% of tour rates when sharing same room with 2 adults and no extra bed is required.

75% of tour rates when sharing same room with 2 adults and one extra bed is required.

 

Payment.

 

1. On acceptance - £150 per person, Acceptance Payment/Deposit (non refundable) by cheque payable to “S W & M Miller”.

 

Your Contract for all tour arrangements is directly with our Associate Company in Thailand, ETC, Bangkok,  to whom payment for the tour is made.

 

2. Eight weeks prior to arrival in Thailand or on Acceptance - 50% payable in US $, by Credit Card or International Bank Transfer, direct to ETC, Bangkok.

 

3. On arrival in Thailand – The balance of 50% payable, in US $, by Credit Card or Cash.

Cancellation Charges

35 days prior to arrival a cancellation fee of US$200 per person will be applicable.
30 days notice of cancellation a fee of 25% of the total amount will be applicable.
25 days notice of cancellation a fee of 50% of the total amount will be applicable
Less than 25 days notice incurs the full amount.

Acceptance Payment non refundable

 

 

Services included in the price:

  • Tours and transfers by air-conditioned transport.  Non air-conditioned transportation and open pick-up truck will be used in remote areas.
  • Except while trekking accommodation will be at standard (or first class) hotels based on 2 persons in twin-bedded room, B/B basis.  All rooms are air-conditioned with attached bath and toilet.
  • 2nd class air-conditioned train with sleeper from Bangkok to Chiang Mai.
  • While trekking, accommodation will be in village huts. Sleeping facilities consist of a floor mat and a sheet. A rucksack, water canteen and lifejacket are supplied.
  • Full board while trekking (boiled water provided for drinking during the trek)
  • Services of local English-speaking guide.
  • Admission fees where applicable.

 

Services not included in the price:

  1. Drinks, bottled drinking water & meals not mentioned in the above itinerary
  2. Sleeping bag.
  3. Tips for guide & drivers.
